Flowers in her hair. Bridal hair inspiration for a summer wedding in Wiltshire

Romantic updo wedding hair with flowers, perfect for a summer weddings

Working with brides on perhaps the most special day of their lives is such an honour and I have been really lucky to have met some amazing and inspiring women over the years and helped them create the perfect bridal look.

I recently had the pleasure of working with the beautiful Alice who booked me to do her bridal hair and makeup for her country wedding in Wiltshire. I wanted to share these pictures as I often meet brides looking for hair inspiration and I think this is such a pretty and romantic updo, perfect for a summer wedding.

I hadn't met Alice before the wedding day and she was very relaxed and happy for me to work my magic. She was sure she wanted her hair up and I had just the perfect style in mind. I used a small wand to create a soft and natural curl on Alice's blond hair and gently pinned it in place using rubber grips. (These are great on colour treated or fragile hair as they don't damage it, they also hold the hair style in place really well.) I back combed it a little at the crown and dressed the hair around the face with a few little tendrils to give a natural and slightly rustic, boho look.

Alice got ready for the wedding at her family home in Wiltshire. It was a beautiful summers day and the perfect setting for a country wedding. Alice's family home is a quintessential English cottage with pretty gardens which were in full bloom. I sent the bridesmaids on a mission to source some more fresh flowers which we used to dress the hair style.

Often, if a bride would like flowers in her hair, I tend to recommend a scattering of smaller more delicate flowers which can be built up to create the desired look. Sometimes larger blooms, such as roses or peonies, although I love them are too heavy and big to dress into a hairstyle, especially if the bride has finer or shorter hair.

For Alice's makeup I kept it looking natural and fresh. I used Chanel 'Vitalumiere' Foundation which is light reflecting and gives a dewy glow to the skin.

We used a couple of individual false lashes to enhance her own lashes and used a charcoal grey eyeliner with grey sparkly shadow to create smokey eyes.

I used a veil of bronzer all over. Clinique 'Defining Nudes' was perfect as it has a subtle shimmer to it which keeps the skin looking glowy and fresh.

On the lips I used a Mac lipstick called "Costa Chic' which is a lovely peachy coral shade and perfect for a spring or summer bridal makeup. Its a really nice uplifting and fresh colour which I absolutely love.

So if you are looking for bridal hair and makeup inspiration for a summer country wedding, look no further. Alice's pretty hair and makeup was the perfect combination of relaxed boho style with a fresh and natural feel.
