Beautiful spring wedding at Hauser and Wirth, Bruton
April 16, 2018
Hello everyone! It's already spring and its been very busy with
weddings and hair and makeup trials. I'm overjoyed that spring is here and summer is on its way. I've got lots of weddings lined up for 2018 and I'm really excited to be meeting all my gorgeous brides and getting them ready for the big day.
I wanted to share a story about a recent wedding that I did in Bruton, Somerset. I was honoured to do the hair and makeup for the gorgeous bride, Hannah and her family for her spring wedding at the unusual and quirky location, Hauser and Wirth, which is an arts centre with a bar and grill. This is an amazing place to get married and the first wedding that I have done here.
When I arrived, I was greeted by a herd of goats, yes goats, milling around outside the gallery! Passing huge bronze sculptures in the garden, I made my way to Durslade Farmhouse, which is where Hannah and her family stayed the night before the wedding. Approaching the 18th century farmhouse, I was immediately struck by how carefully it has been restored, retaining the charm and romance of years gone by.
I must say, I was completely enchanted by the interior design of this historic but quirky farmhouse. Everywhere you looked it seemed like a dream or a painting or a film set. I was of course delighted to see Hannah and Harriet again too and they both showed me around the place. All the rooms were different with original vintage wallpaper, light fittings, antique furniture and original artwork on the walls. Nothing predictable or obvious here and it was the perfect setting for Hannah's cool and arty wedding.
