As a bridal hair stylist and makeup artist, I have been privileged to work at some beautiful wedding venues over the years. I usually work fairly close to my home which just outside Bristol and I feel so lucky to live near the Cotswolds, Wiltshire and Somerset which boasts some of the loveliest places to get married.
I grew up in Gloucestershire, on the edge of the Cotswolds and I have to say I always love going back there to appreciate the green rolling hills and lush countryside, especially when I get to spend time in magnificent hotels and impressive country houses.
One of my favourite wedding venues is The Matara Centre near Tetbury. Its a beautiful regency home with a fantastically bohemian country house vibe with enchanting gardens, perfect for a outdoor summer wedding.
Another favourite of mine is 'The Lost Orangery' near Castle Combe, Wiltshire. The name says it all...Its completely magical with crumbling castles in secret gardens with lakes you can sail on. Dreamy!
Pennard House in Somerset is also a fantastic place to get married and, as I do a lot of weddings here I always feel like I am coming home. They are all so welcoming and the venue has a very relaxed, bohemian country house feel. It also boasts gorgeous gardens and a very pretty church where many couples choose to get married.
I feel so lucky to work in such lovely, magical places and its an honour and privilege to be part of the bride and grooms wedding day.
